Not such an odd subject for the Down At Heel site as it might seem at first sight. Both guitarists were struck by this condition. Each year there are about 1,000 deaths from epilepsy in the UK. This compares to about 200 deaths from AIDS and 300 from Cot Death. Yet SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death from EPilepsy) does not attract anything like as much public interest or financial research support. It was epilepsy that ultimately killed Gavin Simonsen just a few weeks before the birth of his first child, Nadia.
